Bluesky Expands with New Appointments

Aerial mapping company Bluesky International has expanded its commercial operation with a number of new appointments at its Leicestershire based headquarters. Sarah Wright has been appointed as Project Manager and Joshua Aves as GIS Analyst. In addition, Alys Hudson joins as Sales Executive while David Beniston takes on the role of Office Administrator.

Sarah Wright, who holds an MSc in Geographical Information Systems from the University of Leicester, joins Bluesky from Network Mapping where she held the role of Remote Sensing Technician. With considerable experience in the production of geographic datasets and the coordination of workflows and end-user specifications, Wright takes on the role of Project Manager. Joshua Aves originally joined them as an intern before successfully applying for the role of GIS Analyst. He holds a degree in Applied Geology from the University of Plymouth.

Alys Hudson joins Bluesky in the position of Sales Executive having completed her degree in Geography at the University of Leicester. Specialising in remote sensing and other areas of GIS she opted to complete her third year of study as an Erasmus Student at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. David Beniston joined Coalville based Bluesky following their sponsorship of local MP Andrew Bridgen’s job fair. Holding a first class Honours degree in History from the University of Plymouth and a Master’s Degree from the University of Birmingham Beniston takes on the newly created role of Office Administrator.

Managing Director Rachel Tidmarsh commented on the new appointments, “With the launch of new products and services and the award of a number of key national contracts, it is a time of significant growth for Bluesky not only in terms of our product portfolio but also the number, scale and importance of the contracts we are being awarded. To support this growth and maintain high levels of customer support and engagement we have made a number of new appointments.”

Bluesky has recently launched to market the first-ever National Tree Map, is providing the technical lead in a European Commission funded project into a web-based renewable energy rating platform and has close ties with the University of Leicester working to develop innovative solutions for air quality mapping and nighttime aerial surveys. In addition, in partnership with Getmapping, Bluesky has recently been awarded a multi-million-pound contract for the supply of geographic data to Central Government organisations.
