Getmapping Announces New European Management Team Structure

Getmapping has announced the appointment of Gil Melham as European Managing Director. The role has been created in support of Getmapping’s continued expansion program, which also sees Dave Horner relinquishing direct responsibility for managing the European Region and moving to the role of Group CEO.

Gil joined Getmapping as Group Operations Director in 2017 to support international growth plans. Following the successful implementation of key operational initiatives over the last eighteen months, Gil will now take direct responsibility for the entire European region as part of the restructuring program.

“I am delighted that Gil has accepted this new role,” says Dave Horner, the Group’s Managing Director. “I look forward to the impact she will bring to developing the region and implementing our strategy to become the trusted geospatial partner of choice to our growing client base across the region.”

In support of Gil’s new role, Getmapping has also created a new dedicated management team for the region, including the recruitment of team members.

Heather Bates joins the team as European Finance Manager. Heather qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Grant Thornton, one of the UK’s largest accountancy firms and has vast experience as a Financial Controller whilst working in companies of different sizes and within different industry sectors.

Graham Byrne has been appointed European Sales Manager, responsible for business development across the region. Graham joins Getmapping with 18 years’ experience within the IT sector where he has managed teams of all shapes and sizes.

Alex Alves has been promoted to the role of European Operations Manager with responsibility for both Aerial and Mobile operations within Europe. Alex has been with Getmapping for 15 months and has successfully developed our Mobile Mapping offering.

Tim Marshall OBE, Getmapping Chairman, said “These changes in our leadership reflect our ambition to grow internationally as Dave Horner takes on the role of Group CEO and Gil Melham becomes Managing Director (Europe). Along with the other staff who have joined us, these developments increase the Group’s capability to grow as a global provider of geospatial solutions in the decade to come.”
