Topcon and Autodesk Strengthen Partnership

Topcon GB & Ireland announced the latest development of its partnership with Autodesk at Digital Construction Week revealing the integration of its DS-200i total station with Autodesk’s new BIM 360 Layout app.

This latest step between Topcon and Autodesk means that the DS-200i total station can now connect to a coordinated model to the field layout process, increasing both accuracy and productivity on site.

Along with the DSi series, Topcon showcased a wide range of geospatial and construction products at the event - all complemented by a comprehensive display of compatible software. Kit on show included the LN-100 layout navigator, paired with the cloud-based Magnet field software, and the Hiper V GNSS receiver which went hand-in-hand with Topcon’s line of compact touch-screen field controllers.

And it wasn’t just the Topcon products that proved popular at the show. With the help of a simulator, guests could get behind the controls of an excavator to try out Topcon machine control too.

David Bennett, business manager at Topcon GB & Ireland said: “The use of cloud-based software in construction is something we’re keen to push across the industry due to the huge benefits it offers users. Topcon’s machine control range, for example, increases not only productivity and accuracy on site, but also has great safety implications too.

“Events like Digital Construction Week are a great way for Topcon to come together with the wider industry to discuss new ways of working smarter on the ground.”
