This yearly UNIGIS event, for current students, alumni, staff and for anyone interested in UNIGIS will provide an opportunity for networking, for gaining new knowledge and for obtaining inside information about the study programme. The plenary part in the morning will focus on the ethics of (geo)data. New Version of MapThat Released

Cadline’s DynamicMaps team is pleased to announce the release of MapThat version 2.1.0. This new version has updates to the Data Table, Scale Print Tool, Drawing Tools, Measure Tool and the Spatial Importer Tool, as well as increased PostGIS interoperability. AGI Awards for Geospatial Excellence Winners Announced at Conference

The Association for Geographic Information (AGI) announced the winners of its annual Awards for Geospatial Excellence at the end of its Annual Conference, #GeoCom16 held on Wednesday, 23rd November 2016 in London. Lincolnshire County Council Implements thinkWhere Cloud GIS

Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) has implemented a new online Geographical Information System (GIS) infrastructure from thinkWhere. In a move to address issues with legacy software and disparate data silos, thinkWhere’s Location Centre platform is now helping LCC improve the accuracy, currency and availability of data and systems on which business critical service decisions are made. Esri Releases US Census Bureau Data in ArcGIS Living Atlas

Esri, a global leader in location intelligence, has announced that ArcGIS software users will now have access to the most current data on the US population, housing, and workforce. Through ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World, people can use over 1,000 annually refreshed attributes of American Community Survey (ACS) tables from the US Census Bureau's five-year estimates. Real-time Crop Monitoring with Graincast

The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) has released a crop monitoring app called Graincast. It combines data from satellites, sensors, climate forecasts and historical yield data, giving farmers access to accurate crop yield estimates from their smartphone. The agriculture analytics app offers growers personalised yield forecasts for their entire farm, down to a single paddock.
