New FIG Publication on 3D Cadastres

Two recent publications on ‘Best Practices 3D Cadastres’ give a comprehensive overview of research, developments and implementations relating to 3D cadastres. Professor Peter van Oosterom, an authority and expert in this field, has been working in this domain for two decades. The first International Workshop on 3D was organized under his chairmanship in 2001, and the sixth edition of that workshop was held last year. ELS Project Uses Geospatial Open Data from Official National Sources

Open data services developed using official national sources of geospatial information have been demonstrated for the first time at the Geospatial World Forum. Conference delegates received an exclusive preview of the first test services from the Open European Location Services (ELS) Project which is being coordinated by EuroGeographics, the membership association for Europe’s National Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authorities. thinkWhere Creates Map Portal for Open European Geographic Data Services

thinkWhere is developing an online mapping portal to improve access to official European geospatial open data. NSW Launches Cloud-based Service to Manage Cadastre Data

A cloud-based cadastre-as-a-service platform in New South Wales (NSW), Australia, has gone live to overhaul the state's approach to managing cadastral data. Representing a major upgrade to the process for maintaining and updating the NSW cadastre, the new API-based system is primarily aimed at reducing duplication of data and effort by becoming the automated backbone of the development-application submission process for councils. Amalia Velasco Martin-Varés

Amalia Velasco Martin-Varés is international affairs coordinator at the Directorate General for Cadastre in the Ministry of Finance. She has been working there for 29 years, in various technical and management roles with an increasing degree of responsibility. A smart system of coordination between the Cadastre and the Property Rights Registry in Spain is now working and showing results. Agents working in the real estate market are now involved too. Next Great Innovation for Ireland All Mapped Out

Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi) is in the midst of a cartographic automation project that's transforming its product offerings and service capabilities.
