Speakers for AGI’s Annual Conference #GeoCom17 Lining Up

The Association for Geographic Information (AGI) has published the headline speakers who’ll be providing insights at this year’s annual conference, #GeoCom17, putting the focus firmly on the role of location intelligence in today’s fast-paced world. The first speakers announced are Javier de la Torre, Dr Helen Ferrier, Mark Bew MBE, Tom Smith and Charlotte Jee. INSPIRE 2017 Conference to Include High-level Speakers

The INSPIRE 2017 Conference is about to start – on 4-5 September in Kehl, Germany – and 6-8 September the activities are moving to the Strasbour (France) Convention & Exhibition Centre. A broad range of plenary speakers include Strasbourg Mayor Mr Roland Ries and State Secretary, Ministry of the Interior of the Federal Republic of Germany Mr Hans-Georg Engelke will be the first ones in the programme. Technology Taking Off - Survey Association UAV Conference 2013

Richard Groom reports back from the Survey Association’s recent UAV conference at the Newark showground in June. Sadly the weather limited the flying display but delegates still got a real understanding of the latest technology for mapping. The Civil Aviation Authority prefers the term “unmanned aircraft” (UA) to unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) or system (UAS).
