Esri, a global leader in location intelligence, has announced a collaboration with Mobileye, an Intel company and provider of advanced driver-assistance systems software, to bring the advanced data collection capabilities of Mobileye into Esri’s platform as native services. This collaboration will provide Esri customers with the ability to visualize and analyse real-time HD map and location data streaming from sensors on vehicles equipped with Mobileye technology, enabling a new type of living, dynamic map on the Esri platform. Mapping What No One Else Wants to Map

In July and August of this year the world was pre-occupied with the Ashley Madison data breech. Hackers broke into the adult-focused site and threatened to leak details of the membership if the parent company did not shut down both Ashley Madison and a companion site. The demand was not met and the hacking team made the data available in August, reports Adena Schutzberg. Since the data included location details a few teams started mapping. Sefton Council and Arvato Introduce Digital Mapping Tool for Citizens

Sefton Council, with the support of Arvato, has launched a new interactive mapping tool to help residents independently access a range of council information online. The intuitive technology, by software developer Cadcorp, overlays a range of data including property and electoral figures from across the region onto a map hosted on the authority’s website. Plymouth Prepares City for Emergencies with GGP's Mapping Technology

Plymouth is using the latest mapping technology to prepare the city for major emergencies. Plymouth City Council is using a Geographic Information System (GIS) from GGP Systems to help produce emergency planning maps. LINZ support for 3D Mapping of Northland

LINZ is partnering in a project to map Northland using Lidar – a method for collecting 3D data on our land and its features. Uses for Lidar data include flood risk assessment, urban planning, forestry and precision agriculture. Improved elevation data is major contributor to LINZ strategic initiatives to improve resilience to natural events and increase the use of geographic information.
