Sefton Council and Arvato Introduce Digital Mapping Tool for Citizens

Sefton Council, with the support of Arvato, has launched a new interactive mapping tool to help residents independently access a range of council information online. The intuitive technology, by software developer Cadcorp, overlays a range of data including property and electoral figures from across the region onto a map hosted on the authority’s website. Bluesky Signs Aerial Mapping Contract with Ordnance Survey Ireland

Aerial mapping company Bluesky has signed up Ireland’s National Mapping Agency as an exclusive reseller for the public sector market. The agreement between Bluesky and Ordnance Survey Ireland covers the provision of the highest resolution, most up to date aerial photography for the Republic of Ireland, together with associated 3D height products. LINZ support for 3D Mapping of Northland

LINZ is partnering in a project to map Northland using Lidar – a method for collecting 3D data on our land and its features. Uses for Lidar data include flood risk assessment, urban planning, forestry and precision agriculture. Improved elevation data is major contributor to LINZ strategic initiatives to improve resilience to natural events and increase the use of geographic information. Fugro’s Oil Seepage Mapping Collaboration Wins Environmental Award

Fugro has been honoured with an Environmental Leadership Award from The Maritime Alliance, a California-based non-profit organisation that promotes sustainable, science-based ocean and water industries. The project identifies and maps oil seepage from abandoned offshore well sites in Santa Barbara County and was performed for long-time customer Aqeuos Corporation under contract to the non-profit environmental group Heal the Ocean.
