Fugro’s Oil Seepage Mapping Collaboration Wins Environmental Award

Fugro has been honoured with an Environmental Leadership Award from The Maritime Alliance, a California-based non-profit organisation that promotes sustainable, science-based ocean and water industries. The project identifies and maps oil seepage from abandoned offshore well sites in Santa Barbara County and was performed for long-time customer Aqeuos Corporation under contract to the non-profit environmental group Heal the Ocean. The popularity of Cadcorp SIS in local government continues as a web mapping engagement with South Gloucestershire Council (SGC) becomes the latest contract secured by the GIS software and services company. In July and August of this year the world was pre-occupied with the Ashley Madison data breech. Hackers broke into the adult-focused site and threatened to leak details of the membership if the parent company did not shut down both Ashley Madison and a companion site.
