Carbon Project Upgrades OGC Extension for ArcGIS

The Carbon Project (MA, USA), a company in Open-Geospatial .NET technology, has released an upgrade to its CarbonArc Lite interoperability extension for ESRI ArcGIS.

CarbonArc Lite extends ArcGIS to use Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc. (OGC) services and is the first module of the CarbonArc interoperability extension platform for ArcGIS. With CarbonArc Lite ESRI users around the world can now easily plug into the GeoWeb of open-geospatial services describing our planet, including both OGC Web Map and Feature Services.

The Enterprise version of CarbonArc Lite offers new features, additional support for Geography Markup Language (GML) and is the first official update to the beta version of CarbonArc Lite released in early 2006.

CarbonArc Lite was developed using CarbonTools PRO and The Carbon Project’s unique Source-Handler-Data architecture. The Carbon Project’s flagship product, CarbonTools PRO, is a new software toolkit that provides extensible APIs for bringing location-based content into .NET and sharing this content within social networks.
