Leica Reported Revenue Growth of 12.4%

Leica Geosystems (Switzerland) has reported another their quarterly numbers, with revenue growth of 12.4% in local currency, and net income of CHF 12.7 million (US$ 10,081,840), an increase of over CHF 10 million ( US$ 7,938,456.88). Top-line growth continued to be fuelled by the Surveying and Engineering division, which has posted local currency sales growth of 19% for the current fiscal year.


For the full year, Leica Geosystems has increased sales by 12.2% and by 15.5% in local currency. The company’s net income increased to CHF 50.6 million (US$ 40,132,671.71), with full year EBITDA of CHF 128.1 million (US$ 101,582,528.85), or 16.6% of sales.


In the fourth quarter sales reached CHF 201.9 million (US$ 160,104,838.09), an increase of 9.2%, or 12.4% in local currency.
According to Hans Hess, CEO, "Our Surveying & Engineering (S&E) division posted another strong result, with local currency sales growth of 16.1% in quarter four. For the year, S&E has grown the top line by 19% in local currencies, which is a reflection of the strong market acceptance for our new high-end TPS and GPS surveying products".


In GIS & Mapping Q4 sales declined as several large orders fell out of quarter four into the upcoming fiscal year. The High Definition Surveying division (HDS) continued to penetrate its markets with sales of CHF 8.0 million (US$ 6,340,099.94).


Leica Geosystems declared its first dividend, in the amount of CHF 4.00 (US$ 3.17) per share, to be proposed to shareholders at its upcoming Annual General Meeting on 6 July 2005.
