NovAtel Supplies Indian GAGAN Program

NovAtel (Canada) has received an order for additional Space Based Augmentation System (SBAS) equipment from Raytheon Company (MA, USA) in support of the Indian Geostationary Earth Orbit Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) program. This latest contract follows on a contract the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) awarded to Raytheon in November 2004 for the ground-based elements of the GPS and GAGAN Technology Demonstration System (TDS). NovAtel will supply receiver equipment of these ground-based elements, which will be included in eight Indian reference stations, an Indian master control centre, and an Indian land uplink station. This equipment is scheduled to ship to Raytheon during the first half of this year.
