Submit Abstracts for GITA’s Annual Conference 29

The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) (CO, USA) has announced that less then two weeks remain to submit paper abstracts for GITA’s Annual Conference 29, held at the Tampa Convention Center fromt 23-26 April 2006. The deadline to submit abstracts for the event is 24 May 2005.


The conference theme is No Barriers: Connected. Responsive. Prepared. The approximately 2,500 geospatial professionals expected to attend will share ideas and learn how organisations are using GIS to respond to growing business needs and prepare for quickly changing situations.


The conference committee seeks professionals from the user and vendor communities to present ideas that will assist others in meeting a variety of economic, social, and regulatory challenges. The 15 conference tracks include: Data Acquisition and Maintenance; Internet and Web Services; Organizational Impacts; Public Sector; Critical Infrastructure Protection and Emergency Response; Mobile Applications; Operations Management; Technology Directions; Enterprise Architecture; System Integration; Work and Asset Management; Project Management; Business Intelligence; Planning, Design, and Engineering; and ROI/Business Case.


Prospective speakers should submit two abstracts—one 75-word description and one 200 words in length—and include the intended audience rank (novice, intermediate, advanced, or all audiences) and three learning objectives summarising what participants will gain from the presentation. Abstracts may be submitted via GITA’s online submission form. Complete information on the call for papers process, including a sample format, may be obtained from the GITA website: www.gita.org.
